Our Summer Reading List:

Your Band Sucks: What I Saw at Indie Rock's Failed Revolution (But Can No Longer Hear) - Jon Fine

 width=

If you're into nonfiction and the music industry, this is a great pick. This memoir is an inside-look on the underground indie rock music scene on how it emerged and evolved. It's based on Jon Fine's 30 years experience playing and recording with multiple bands including his own, and what it took for indie bands to get their name and music out there in the pre-internet days.

Modern Romance: An Investigation- Aziz Ansari

 width=

In his first book, funny man Aziz writes about finding romance in an era where technology is used for anything and everything, including dating! Aziz touches on topics such as being able to tell what certain emojis mean when you're texting someone you like, and how people are still frustrated when they have a million potential dates to choose from at the click of a mouse. If you're looking for something light and humorous, this comedian won't disappoint.

In the Unlikely Event - Judy Blume

 width=

From the author who brought you the popular books, Fudge and Blubber, Judy Blume is at it again with a long awaited book for adults. This work of fiction is based on real-life events that shake up three generations of family, friends and strangers in her hometown, Elizabeth, New Jersey. If you're a Judy fan, check this one out, as she said it may be her last book!

Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life  - William Finnegan

 width=

Quite possibly the best pick for a beach read, William takes us back to his teenage years in this memoir to California and Hawaii in the 1960's when surfing was his obsession and addiction. Great for wanderlust, he'll take you through his journey from the South Pacific, Australia, Asia, and Africa on his quest to find the best waves around the world.

Go Set a Watchman - Harper Lee

 width=

If you're a fan of the classic To Kill a Mockingbird, you must read this sequel! This book was written in the 1950's, but was assumed to be lost until just 2014. Now, at 89 years old, Harper Lee will be releasing the sequel to Scout's story about her personal struggles with society, and the small Alabama town that she grew up in.
